Meet 7-year-old Madden from Oklahoma, a boy born with a cleft lip and heterochromia iridum, a condition where the eyes have different colors. Unfortunately, some individuals found it amusing to tease him due to his unique appearance. However, Madden discovered a way to cope with these challenges, just like dealing with the Dementors from the Harry Potter series!
Madden's mother, Christina Humphreys, shared: Last week, a friend shared an image of a cat within our cleft moms group. This feline had been taken in by a rescue group in Minnesota. It was immediately clear to us that this cat was destined to become a part of our family. Not only does she share Madden's cleft lip, but she also has complete heterochromia iridum, just like him. Their connection was meant to be, and it's remarkable how a pet can make you feel less isolated.

Madden's discovery of Moon appears to be a miraculous twist of fate. Heterochromia iridum is a condition where a portion of the iris displays multiple colors. Complete heterochromia iridum, where both eyes have entirely different colors, is exceedingly rare, occurring in less than 1% of the population. When combined with cleft lips, it becomes exceptionally rare.
We are not typically spontaneous people, but we were certain that this kitty was meant to be loved by us. Moon and Madden are the perfect companions for each other. In a world filled with bullies and hurtful words, we choose to embrace love. This kitty embodies love and was undoubtedly meant to be part of our journey alongside Madden's.
Madden is an incredibly adorable and handsome boy, and he's fortunate to be unique in his own way.
